South Korea’s Second President “Vacated”
Seoul – (Pakistan’s News)
South Korea’s parliament has passed an impeachment resolution against its second president in a few days.
Impeachment of Acting President Han Deok-soo
Private TV Geo News reported, citing foreign media, that the parliament has overwhelmingly approved the resolution to impeach acting president Han Deok-soo by the opposition parties of South Korea.
Reasons Behind the Impeachment Motion
South Korea’s acting president had refused to appoint constitutional judges to take action against former president Yoon Suk-yeol, who belongs to his party, on which the opposition announced an impeachment motion against the president. The opposition demanded that two independent investigative agencies investigate the martial law of ousted President Yoon and the alleged bribery of the first lady.

Historical First for South Korea
Han Deok-soo is also the Prime Minister of South Korea, and this is the first time that South Korea has passed a no-confidence motion against an acting president.
Background on Former President Yoon Suk-yeol
It should be noted that the South Korean opposition also presented two impeachment motions against the former president’s decision to impose martial law in the country. The first impeachment motion against former President Yoon Suk-yeol failed, but the opposition succeeded in passing a second no-confidence motion against President Yoon, which forced him to step down.
